THE BRAIN: Function, Imaging & Repair

The Second International Meeting on "The Brain: Function, Imaging and Repair" was held at the GAIA Center of the Goulandris Natural History Museum (GNHM) from 19 to 21 October 2009. The meeting was part of a series of scientific meetings under the title "Science, Nature and Society", organized by the GNHM with the cooperation of the Imperial University Professor and President of the European Research Council Dr. Fotis Kafatos and Cambridge University Professor Dr. Athanasios Fokas. The first International Meeting on "Genomics, Evolution and Biodiversity" was preceded in April 2007. The scientists invited to participate in the conference came from different but complementary fields and were top in the field they have chosen to serve. From their three-day interaction and the creative dialogue that was developed, interesting elements emerged.
